Over the years I've made many blind contour drawings, some as self portraits and others of whoever's on my screen. In a blind contour drawing, I look only at the subject, not at the paper. I use a Sharpie to make my lines, then color it with marker or watercolors. The results are usually better than anything I could have drawn while looking at the page!
